Windows are slow as molasses.
OK, I have close to 200K miles on my Vert.
I never have trouble charging or starting the car. All of the other electrical systems seem to work fine, but the windows roll up and down as slow as molasses. I am guessing that the motors are worn out. Has anyone ever rebuilt these motors? |
you could have a weak alternator. When was the last time you checked that out? do your windows go up slower when you turn on the headlights?
|
Yes, they do. I've thought about the alt, because it has 200K on it, but other than the windows, everything else seems fine.
I had the charging system checked out around a year or two ago - when I last changed the battery - they have been slow for a long time, but seem to be getting slower as time goes by. I will I connect the batteries from my two sevens, it should compensate for any weak alternator, so I can eliminate the alt as a problem without taking the car to a tester. I will give that a try, but I suspect that they will still be slow. |
I had the same problem, try rolling them both up at the same time, and while one is going up let go of the other, if you see it increase in speed then you've got some electrical problems, weak battery, old alt, etc.
I replaced my alt and it fixed it right up. |
Same problem here but only on the drivers side. I suggest we both take off the door panels, clean and lube the track and assume that is the problem until we try again. Some times the most obvious is the simplist.
