Window Problems

I replaced my window switch with a new one and it still wouldnt go up or down. Do u guys kno what might be the problem? Thank You!

BadBoy Nov 16, 2003 05:30 PM

if its not making any noise then probably the window regulator motor is broken...if it is making noise, then prolly its off the track. simply remove the door panel and see whats happening in there.

Oh thanks it must have to be the motor because its not makin any noises. Also, I think the window is off the track also how would i fix that?

Shawntx76 Nov 16, 2003 05:34 PM

hit Ctrl-Alt-Del twice and see if your windows go down.

which window is not going down and which switch did you replace?

Often people will have problems with the passengers window and replace the passengers switch , when the driver's switch (the one that provides power and ground to the passengers switch) will be the problem.

TakumiJr Nov 16, 2003 09:21 PM

Both doesnt work, but i replace the driver side window switch.

Icemark Nov 16, 2003 09:31 PM

And you checked the fuse right???

Did you check power at the switch???

TakumiJr Nov 16, 2003 09:36 PM

Yes i check the fuse underneat the dash, but didnt find which one was for the window. And what do u mean by check pwr at the switch?

Thank You,

Icemark Nov 16, 2003 09:44 PM

You didn't even check the 30 amp power window fuse to see if it was blown before putting in a new switch???

To test the power at the switch you will need to get out a digital -multi-meter and check to see if there is 12V+ on the Black/red wire (when the key is on) and ground on the solid black wire.
