window electrical problem

I have a 1988 Vert, my drivers side window regulator broke a cable. I purchased a new window regulator from mazdatrix, I installed the new regulator and when I hooked the connector to the motor it went to full window down and stayed there. the master switch was not hooked up. I hooked up the master switch and the window would not work. I noticed the motor getting hot so I un pluged it.
I then tried to connect the power wires( blue wires with red markings on one and green markings on the other) again to the connector the motor clicked and started getting warm again.

Looks like power is being applied to the motor regardless of switch position or even a switch installed. The passenger side works as it is supposed to from the drivers side master switch, this is a new switch also, same thing happens with the old switch .
Where do I start looking, is there a relay or do I have wires crossed somewhere that is causing power to be applied to the motor without running through the switch.

Please help

Thank you

UPDATE
I now have no power to the motor wires regardless of master switch position, could this be a bad window motor causing the problems?

any fuses blown?

you likely pinched the wires behind the regulator when you were installing it.

there is no power provided to the motor under any circumstances when the switch is unplugged meaning the feed wires are shorted to an external power supply and the fuse feeding that power supply is now blown.

step one, loosen your regulator and pull the wiring harness to see where it is stuck at and check for smashed or chafed wires, you will need to cut and heat shrink tube them back together, solder them, liquid tape or electrical tape them up so they are not contacting each other or the chassis to ground out anywhere. after that check all your fuses and replace any blown ones(possibilites would be:power door locks, power windows and security system. they should be in the cockpit fuse box down by the driver's feet). lastly reassemble the regulator to the door and install the switch, it should work after all of that is done.

good luck.

PM me if you got any other questions.
