Wilwood brake kit

hey guys, I was wondering the kit that wilwood peiced together for our cars @ $1350.00usd, is that basically the same as the k2rd (orwhatever that no longer available company is) kit?

Just interested in some info for future reference, I searched around and saw this kit pop up, but no real feed back or info on it.

I would never pay that much for a brake kit.

IF you don't have 4 piston calipers, find all the part to swap them onto your car and try to find larger diamter rotors. Corksport sells some. Differernt type of brake pads make a big difference too. Also maybe some SS brake lines, I have a set fro mazdatrix and they do stiffen up the brake feel a bit.

I am not really interested in purchasing the kit, I just want to know people's feedback that runs this kit. I am not concern about my brakes right now on my vehicle, as i did mention "for future reference" as in if I ever get to the tracks and manage to some how destroy my brakes.

I am just as interested in you not willing to pay for the kit as you are interested in the kit.

my apologies if you feel my response is offense. I am seriously looking for opinions on how the kit fits, and feel, and performance.

That seems pretty cheap actually.

Yeah, last time I saw big brake kit pricing it was more along the lines of $1700.

No.
K2RD actually had two kits available.
One was based on the Wilwood billet Dynalite 4-pot calipers.
The other was based on the Wilwood Superlite-6 6-pot calipers.
The kits were designed in-house.

Nope not offensive at all. I just see a lot of people wanting to by big brake kits for street use and moderate track use. I could see if you were racing a lot.

Here's some other points to consider...

Although K2RD does not offer them for sale anymore, there's still a chance that a lot of the custom pieces are still available.

I run the Wilwood Dynalite 12.19" x 1.25" kit.
The two piece rotor (+ hats) are LIGHTER then the stock 1-piece 10.9" front disc.
So, you're getting a larger rotor with less mass.

Also, the PFC brake pads were THE brake pads to get prior to them being discontinued.
The Hawks worked just as good, but the PFC pad lasted 3 times longer.
The downside is that the PFC brake pads were more expensive - about $200 per axle.
The Hawk HPS' are a lot cheaper, but I find them lacking for my use.

I used to run the Hawk HPS with my Dynalites, but I found them a bit too soft.
I've stepped up to Wilwood "E" pads, and the LOVE them.
They are slightly more aggressive than the Hawk HPS I used to run.
So why all the hype?
I got them from Summit Racing for UNDER $60 per axle.
Due to the generic design of the brake pads on the Wilwoods, brake pads are DIRT CHEAP with a LOT of options.
