Will These gauges work!?

I was wondering will these gauges for for an 87 T2. I was thinking as I was sitting in my car, and looking at the pic, that my cluster is triangular around the oil temp and turbo, and these are circular. Does it really matter?

RETed 10-10-06 12:46 PM

No, they are for a 1989 - 1991 model.
I don't recommend anyone fucking with their gauges.
The needles have to be pulled, and most likely they will get damaged during that procedure.

well all is required for them to be mounted is removing the stock screws on the gauges, then you slip the GLOW over the needle and thats it put your two screws on . Did that answer your question?

mort2002 10-11-06 10:50 AM

i put those on a talon for my buddy. i hated them. they were too bight. they woud almsot blind you at night... i like my nice orange stock glow...;)

Okay, so you don't remove the stock gauge faces.
The new overlay just sits on top of everything?

I just looked at the above pic, and it looks like the stock needles are not illuminated anymore?
Or the blue glo just overpowers everything else?

WOW, any aftermarket gauges are ugly in my opinion. Factory looks GREAT! Now a bezel is another story. :)

Yup, the new ones overlay the old ones. So now you have a white face with a white needle. Its even worse at night because they overpower the stock dash bulbs if the bulbs werent removed in the process. At night you have to look for the dark spot on your gauges to figure out what theyre displaying.

I've seen these on FCs and they absolutely look like ass. Even on the dimmest setting, they blind you and give lots of glare on the drivers window.

AbortRetryFail 10-12-06 01:19 AM

Does anyone make these in RED? I like the stock red color, i just don't like the bulb illuminated look of it.

My5ABaby 10-12-06 08:36 AM

I'd think about it if it were orange, not as bright, and the needles were visible. :dunno:

Qhasan31 10-12-06 12:30 PM

I'm going to buy them just to see how it is! cuz I like the look...... I'm about to paint my car probably darker than a 350z blue, and I want the interior to match the car.... So imma do it! haha!
