Will shot shifter bushings cause cluncky shifting

I've just ordered a new lower and upper shifter bushings. I never had the lower, and the upper was cracked and flopping around during shifting. Do you think by adding these I will eliminate my clunky shifting problem?
Thanks,
Damon

It may or may not... depends on what else is damaged

my transmission is very "clunky" but the shifter its self is worn heavy. The straight cut groove on the ball is more semi-circular now.

Should work wonders. Be sure to add a bit of gear oil into the change control case (page J1-46 in the service manual).

my top bushing on my shifter is cracked in two and it makes my shifting ruff also it made my cover loose i tightend it up and ruff shifting is all gone but sure to be back soon because of broken bushing in IMO it probley makes a big diff with new bushings
