will this rear end swap work
 

ok check this out i have a 88 gtu with a turbo conversion but i still have the n'a drivetrain. but the thing is this i have a extra t2 tranny and i found a gtus rearend with the 4.3 for 150, now what do i need to do to make the t2 tranny work with the 4.3 diff. I have been told that all i need to get is a automatic driveshaft and the halfshafts i already have will match up with the 4.3 diff. thanks fellas in advance i really want to use this 4.3 diff with the t2 tranny.

All you need is the Auto Driveshaft to mate a T2 Tranny with a NA 3rd member Diff.

BUT, no idea which half shafts you'd need. I'd guess the NA ones would be right.

I'm more interested in you're sourcing a GTUs diff for $150 that's in good shape. Do you know the history of use for that Diff. It would be a bummer if you went to all that trouble only to find you had a bad part.

Is it coming from a Private seller, or a business seller?

actually it is from a junkyard, has everything accept the tail lights are not on the car

yeah the gtus uses the NA driveline. WOuldnt you rather just use the TII rear? Im looking at putting more power down in my na but Im trying to complete the driveline before a start the eng. Just my 2cents, go out and buy TII driveshaft, diff and halfs.

I was talking to at Mazdatrix the other day (resident RX7 GOD besides Dave Lemon). He didn't have a real high opinion of the GTUs's ability to handle power beyond NA stock.

I'd give John a call or e-mail and get his direct thoughts on this idea of yours.
