the second it hits boost it just kinda dies no power what so ever

i just walked in the door from adjusting my TPS it wasnt way out but a little its dad on now but at WOT its only reading 4.357 K ohms shouldnt it be atleast 5K ohms?

any help is great i need the car by sun morn got soem priliminary auto crossing to do

Turbo inlet duct is cracked. Or other huge vacuum leak.

Pinfield357 03-26-03 05:56 PM

aaron where else do you think it could have a huge vacume leak?

would a missing single 4mm line cause it to staul out or just not to idle well??

after i got it warmed up to running temp it would have a bumpy idle around 1500 if that helps.

Pinfield357 03-26-03 08:50 PM

bump

Pinfield357 03-27-03 07:07 PM

come on plz

i'm also guessing a vacuum leak... check your piping, tubing and anything else that could be leaking. It would have to be a substantially large hole say 5mm diameter for no boost.

I had this problem with my other cars too check your air filter, i wasn't boosting because i had a clogged filter.

Not too sure about the rx7s, but check the afm, this would cause the idle problems but would not relate to your boost problems!

i dont know guys i am completly baffeled i can not find a large leak and if i get some one to hold there foot on the gas a little so i can look around while its running i cant hear nething out of normal.

but what really has me confused is that if its up to running temp it will idle just really bumpy and some times it still does stall

Aaron Cake 03-28-03 04:11 PM

You won't necessarily see a vacuum leak. You need to inspect the hoses and connections, or use the "carb cleaner" method of locating it...

Yes, it is entirely possible that a single 4MM hose disconnected could cause your problem.

Pinfield357 03-28-03 05:28 PM

ok thanks aaron could someone please describe how to do the "carb cleaner" method

dr0x 03-28-03 05:36 PM

Have someone keep the car running and spray carb cleaner around all possible vac leaks. Idle will clear up if there isa vac leak.

I have a problem too. I can get boost, but just 0.5 BAR with my boost controller turned all the way up. I am hoping I just don't have my homemade TID on good enough but if not what could it be? Oh and I idle atlike 1500 or 2000. Not really fluctuating, but just depends I guess.

[YMMIJ] 03-28-03 08:58 PM

mine idles on less than 800, but that's controled by microtech.
ride or die: what boost controller are you using, check that you've put it in the right way. I also had that problem. pluged them in the wrong way, the vacuum lines that is.

Pinfield357 03-30-03 12:11 AM

took the UIM and TB out to check lines and everything looks fine everything is going wher it should and nothing looks like it has a hole in it.

i took it out for a drive again and discovered that if i baby it up to 4K RPM then nail it it WILL boost and boost strong. wouldnt a vac leak still cause it not to boost no matter what the RPM? could this be a grounding problem or some thing like that?

Aaron Cake 03-30-03 10:28 AM

Have you checked your turbo for excessive play?

Perhaps the wastegate is stuck open?

Pinfield357 03-30-03 03:45 PM

i think i may have figured it out when i was out on a drive again...

the brake peddle would slowly go ot the floor if i where sitting at a light and i do remember the brake booster line being a little loose

so im hopeing that is my problem i just havnt goone out to put some better clamps on it yet

fingers crossed.....
