will this fit? opinions....

im planning on changing out the clutch in my 86 GXL because the pressure plate is out of alignment and is making big time vibrations....so im thinking, instead of resurfacing the flywheel, could i just stick in another one?.....now the thing is which would fit and be the best choice...T2, fd, or a lightweight aftermarket one?

what do you guys think?

Won't fit, the entire drivetrain would have to be replaced. The only other option would be an aftermarket flywheel, which I think is a waste on an NA vehicle. It will tend to bog on hills, not to mention it is a lot harder to start going uphill.

IMO, use a stock replacement clutch and pressure plate and resurface the flywheel.

You really should just have the stock flywheel "turned" or resurfaced. Or your next best thing would to by an aftermarket light weight flywheel designed for a second gen N/A like you have. A few places you might want to check is: racingbeat, mazdatrix,rx7.com,act clutches. should be some good stuff at those sites.
