Wierd brake sounds after I first start the car...

I park overnight in my driveway which is like a 20-25 degree hill, not really steep, but just enough to call it a hill. Anyways, when I start the car, I because of habit have the brake pushed in, and I start it up and after a few seconds I let it out with the e-brake on. I dont hear the sound then, but when i'm going down the driveway, i have the brakes partially on so i just dont go slamming down into the street, and it makes this sound like a spring or something straightening out (hard to explain the sound) and i feel it just a little bit in the pedal, but it sounds like it springs then goes back or something, then i get into the street and pull away and never hear it again until i park on a hill or something. btw - i reverse out of the driveway, and it might happen in other places, its just that i dont usually have the brakes on when i'm first starting to drive unless i'm going down a hill. Anyone have any suggestions to what it might be?

does it make the sound when you dont have the brakes half way down when you start moving? it sounds like something in the calipers is binding making the pads stick to the rotor until you start moving making them pop off. makes a wierd sound when that happens.

My friend has a really nice microphone his sax instructor sold him, we were recording stuff upstairs and we heard like his parents who were downstairs talking on the thing, its really nice. I'm going to do some sound recordings onto his MD player and have a sound diagnostic thread because I have a lot of little things that don't sound right, lol

Yea when i'm not pushing the pedal all the way in, but when i'm slowly backing out of the driveway, i just let it roll in nuetral, then when I need to back further out into the street i put it in reverse.

my bet is the calipers are binding and hanging onto the rotors. you can try using brake parts cleaner to get them to move better, just be careful you dont get any on the pads themselves.

what happens if you get it on the pads? i remember spraying the shit outta brakes in class; that stuff dries up in seconds, though drips a bit. i dont remember exactly whether the caliper was still on or not, but i dont remember anything about brake pads. refresh my memory.

How about the ABS self diagnostic check-It'll do it everytime, and you can feel it in the pedal.

thats the abs pump, i'm not sure but i think it does a self diagnostic check everytime the car is first moved. does your abs light come on ? mines broke at the moment and makes that sound for about a minute before the abs warning light comes on. the pedal also feels very stiff untill the light comes on then it softens and seems normal. why dont you pop the bonnet and have a listen around the abs pump while a friend presses the pedal to make sure.
