Widest rim / tire i can fit...
 

on an 89 basemodel rx7...im new to this car, i dont know all the specs.....this car kind of just fell on my lap today, and im deciding what to do with it...

i need to know what the widest tire width and widest rim width the car can handle without rubbing on the front and back...

Congrats on the new car, keep it around and dont "rice" it up, use the search button to get results but sometimes that won't help even. i'm not sure how wide you can go, it all depends on wheel offset really. adding widebody fenders can make your choices much more variable. i know stock tires (for Turbo II) are 7" wide, i've heard up to 9" in back maybe 8" in front i dunno

i got 215's on my stock gxl wheels...i think that is as wide as u can go for a 6 inch wide wheel

i have 17 inch momo sports 17 by 8
front 225 45 17
rear 245 45 17

with einbach .8 drop and they dont rub at all
