Wideband Sensor + A/F Gauge
hey guys i was wondering if anyone here or konws of anyone useing a wideband 02 sensor. just the sensor and a A/F gauge? would that be ok to tune a car with? or is it worth it to buy the whole Wideband O2 kit?
|
doesn't work.... if it did wide band systems wouldn't be so much $...
|
yah as far as i know you just hook the a/f gauge up to the wire that goes to the ecu, which would still not give an entirely accurate reading. The rest of the wires in a wideband 02 are for the decoder which is the real way to get a perfect reading.

oh damn, becuase i was looking on rx7store.net and i saw just the sensor was like $59. i was like damn that would be cool if you could jsut wire that to a gauge.

You can get a vw wideband for like 30 bucks :D
But yah I dont think it'd work. However, the kit that rx7store sells seems to be the best price, as far as I've been able to find for kits, and it's simple. Hook up the decoder, make some runs, go to ur comp and look at the results :) |
The wideband controller at http://www.innovatemotorsports.com can output a signal to regular narrowband meters making them display your actual A/F ratio. This is still expensive, but at least you can keep your narrowband meter and actually make it useful. Also easier to mount an autometer than the whole wideband unit.

Yah that's the thing on rx7store.net exactly

get the AEM wideband. Its a gauge and wideband O2 all in one. thats what im getting
