Wideband O2 kit suggestions please

I keep hearing that these kits are pretty affordable these days but the cheapest i can find are about $300. Is there anything else of decent quality that is cheaper or is that what I should be expecting to pay.

Thanks

My LM-1 was like 280$ shipped brand new from a website (non-eBay).
Just takes a few pages worth of google sites to save dough.

I got an AEM wideband off ebay a few weeks ago for my truck for $225 shipped.

If you keep an eye out you can find a deal.

Thats what i got, from that seller too. it looks very nice and my buddies works real good too.

I still have yet to install mine, i need to install my superchager and headers first. but that was by far the best price i found and the gauge was rated one of the best around when i was looking them up.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Has anyone built one of those JAW kits? how much work is it?

I tried to download the instructions but it wouldn't work for some reason.

I've never built one, but I've been talking to that community on their forums. Check out their forums, read and ask some questions. They are real friendly over there.

It comes with everything you need to install it, gauge, o2 sensor and wiring. it can even output the reading to a computer for tuning.

And my buddy loves his, it is nice to have both the colored analog gauge style around the outside and a digital numbers on the inside of the gauge. Make it easy to check at a glance or to see the exact number for tuning.

I prefer LM-1 myself.

Thanks guys , I decided on the AEM kit , I got it off of Summit for $255.

Texas_Ace 07-25-08 01:56 PM

Good choice, though why pay the extra $30 when you could get it off ebay for $225 shipped?

I needed for tomorrow.

Plus I have a lot of faith in their customer service.

FWIW, the AEM works OK, but its accuracy faulters when you're at the extreme ends of the scale.

Running at the same time as my NGK AFX Powderdex, it will ahve accurate readings about 60-80% of the time, but when at WOT measuring low 11, high 10 AFR's its out by as much as 0.5 to a full AFR point.

Just something I observed.......

advantages of the LC-1 from innovate:
has the analog outputs to keep 1 O2 bung and run both wide and narrow band off the same sensor.
curious?
does the AEM do this? i never bothered to check?
ive had mine for a couple of years and it still works great.

Thanks guys , I decided on the AEM kit ,
You may regret this later.

The thing about the AEM wideband is that it does not use a linear signal. It uses a weird polynomial voltage relationship that most non AEM products don't work with. That's why most people with Power FC's and Rtek's for example ditch them.
The problem with this??? Read the last 6 posts on this page

I like the LC-1, the LM-1 is nice, but I see it more for a shop use than personal...

ITSWILL 07-25-08 02:39 PM

oh great, well ill have it tomorrow and as long as it works good enough for me to get a decent tune on the car until I can get it to the dyno i will be happy. Thanks for the input guys.
