What colour is the smoke? Some slight white/grey smoke is normal on startup, especially on cold mornings.
It may be that one of your mufflers has become clogged. Either by rust, or by your cat crumbling back into it. |
its a white/graysh. if its cloged how can i fix that. i don whant to have to take the whole thing off
|
If it's a broken cat, replace the cat.
If there is NOTHING from the muffler, then it's probably safe to assume it's clogged. You'll probably have to remove it to determine the cause. |
what happens if i leave it like that?
|
Engine damage if it gets clogged enough. You need to fix this.

if you feel the loss in power, probably cloged cat. If you see the white smoke for over 5min during warm up and its steamy then its probably your coolant seal. If its not steamy and looks little blackish white smoke, then its probably your tubo dripping oil down the dp.
|
That's not true. In cold climates (ie. Ontario, Canada) you will get thick clouds of steam no matter how long the car has been running. The car is putting out water vapour from the combustion process, which makes a thick fog behind the car when it condenses.
