why wont the 4 piston calipers work on the 4 lug cars

Ok I have a brand new 4 lug single piston caliper and a quad piston caliper sitting here and the ears are the same, the holes line up, the brake lines are in the similiar place etc..

why cant u use the 4 pistons calipers on the single piston caliper hubs etc...

I see you will have to use the 5 lug rotors but in theroy u can redill the rotors to fit on the 4 lug hubs and with aftermarket 16" or larger wheels clearence should not be an issue..

What do u guys think

Transfer the distribution block and brake booster also.

in theory u should not have to yes it would be recomended but u really should not have to.. alot of big brake kits including the one I did and sell for dsm's is to go from a single to dual pistons setup and u dont have to.. I also had a friend that went from single to quad on I think another mitsi and he did not have to and his car brakes fine...

i had the same problem. the rotors of the tii are slightly larger.
when i was swapping to 5 lug from a tii. i had the issue of clearence with my n/a breaks. they would not fit. i had to get tii breaks to fit to the tii rotors. the rotors are slightly different in size and width.

i would NOT drill anything. if i were you i would research more about this. and check to see if your 4 piston callipers are for a tii or for 5 lug hubs. most likely it is.
and i am guessing your n/a and posibly even 4 lug
good luck . let me know how it goes

edit: woops totaly didnt realize i was speeking to spooled up racing. haha. any way. good luck buddy. post up with your findings. and any pix you can come across for this problem!!!!
