Why i got a coarse idle w/ my brakes pressed?

i noticed something:

when im at a stop light, and have my brake pedal depressed, my idle drops about 50 RPM, and gets coarse, and rough.

and when i let off the brakes, the idle speeds up a tiny bit, and smooths out.

my guess is a vacc leak somewhere. anyone got an idea where it would be, seeing as how it is brake-related?

Your right.

Vaccum leak.

Power brakes work on vaccum.

Check the hoses and firmness of the fittings.

If they rotate or break free easilly, replace 'em.

replace evey one you can.

I did when I have my intake off, and WOW what a difference!!!

i figured as much.

now i finally have an excuse to get me some Akimoto silicone hoses, instead of the sole purpose of ricing out my car. hehe

Please...

I don't want to be involved in any "ricing" of any car.

YUK.

I put flat black hoses on my car with thiker walls and higher temp/resilliancy.

thats the only improvement on the vaccuum hose area.

Any "pretty" parts I install will be genuine upgrades to performance, like pullys, etc.

But thats the only reason that I would put "pretty" stuff on my car.

No LED windsheild washer thingies, whatever....

But good luck with the repair!

FYI pal...silicone hoses outlast, and out perform thick black rubber hoses.

they arent just show peices. theres a reason Magnecor plug wires are insulated w/ silicone rubber as opposed to plain old black neoprene, or butyle rubber.

I apparently have been misunderstood.

I simply said that I didnt think that colored hoses are "cool" looking.

I know all about silicone hoses, thier longevity, etc.

Mine are silicone, however, just basic black.

I beleive that visual understatement, while being powerful has more "presence" than flamboyance.

I just dont subscribe to the "HEY LOOK AT ME" mentality of lowered, booming, neon'd, clear-lensed, outrageous finned, stickered, and falsely modified cars have.

So I stay away from any hint of "rice".

Sounds like you do too.
But, if you subscribe to some or all of the visual appeal of "rice" then I was merely mentioning that I would not be joining you in this endevor.

thats all.
