why do 89-91 n/a make more power?

Whta is the secret behind this more power?

Is is only because of the intake manifolds?

Is both upper and lower intakes different for the new years? compared to 86-88?

Can I bolt the intake right on my 88 without any problems?

89-91's have higher compression rotors among other things

Higher Compression.
Lighter Rotors
Different Intake Manifold
VDI

WHAT IS VDI? I am going to try to search for VDI, but I think I need more letters.

Is there that much power in lighter rotors and higher compression is it 9:1 and 88 is 8:5.

Any ideas what amount just the manifolds can do?

Varible Dynamic Intake. It is a plate in the middle intake manifold that opens at 5500 RPM. It allows for backpressure, creating low end torque. It is an addition to the torque generating 5th and 6th port actuators. At least, this is how I have it described to me....

it's actually 9.4:1 vs 9.7:1
