not sufficent fuel posibbly
|
what you mean
the car is hard to start and i notce that you have to hit the gas really fast to get it to start up also the car it seems like it is getting enough gas once it is started but like i say it turns cherry red like after 8 mins of runing need some advice!!!! (Edit for signature) |
the sound of running lean??
|
Actually, the car is running too rich. The unburnt fuel is being combusted in the exhaust.
|
ok what do i need to do to fix this issue?
(Edit for signature AGAIN) |
How about you fix that signature, then we'll talk?
But the problem is most likely an issue that can be fixed with a simple tuneup. |

I'm all for the clogged cat idea. Failing that, squirrels moving into your muffler (I've seen it happen)
BTW, the line of thinking for the not enough gas statement: Running LEAN makes the EGTs HOTTER. RICH makes EGT run COOLER. However, Running rich and having your fuel re-ignite inside your exhaust = much hotter. |
Don't park where there is tall grass :D

your timing could be off as well
|
well he got headers and opened up the front end. he got cat back exhaust and opened the back up. do you still have all 3 cats. if so get rid of them. go to a local exhaust shop and have them make some piping for you.
|
The headers replace the first two cats no matter what, I belive.
The timing could definitely do it as well. In fact, thats what it was on my 66 mustang. I got my whole exhaust to do that excact same thing. I seriously wonder why I didn't remember that. Guess my brain doesnt assosiate piston engines and rotaries in the slightest . . . :p |
yes i have a high flow cat
|
double. Sorry.
|
Watch for the sig !
One way or the other the fuel is not being burnt correctly ... bad timing, misfiring, rich mixture, etc If the cat is glowing red, its life expectancy is about 1 week (just guessing). Time for a good tuneup and maybe check the engine codes. Hugues - |
wtf was his sig? im interested to know
|
lol why should i remove my sig? i think it is funny as hell. it is like one of those barney shows but with a squirel and making fun of it i guess.???

He probably wants you to remove it because its sexually suggestive. Your next step is being banned from the forum.
