Who sells that dual channel EGT gauge?
 

I saw them for sale a while back on here for some group buy or something. The ones with dual probes that can read up to 2400 degrees.

That isn't it. The one in question read up to 2400 degrees (unless my memory is screwed). My old single channel (in the downpipe near the turbo though) read up to 1800 and is easily pegged from sustained runs at VIR.

You can buy them through many aero parts distributors like Aircraft Spruce.

The Pineapple one only reads up to 2000F and is way overpriced. I bought one and could have had the exact same (actually one that reads up to 2200....) setup for less then half the money. Only thing you pay for with the pineapple gauge is the letters F and R as opposed to L and R.

Edit: not to mention it only begins displaying readings at 1000F. Theres some very nice full sweep units (250 to 2000) out there which will give you a far better picture for less money. Just look through Aircraft parts distributors.

but do those gauges run off 12 volts?? I thought aircrafts weren't 12 volt systems

In fact, I'd have to search around to see where I found it, but when discovering this I found the exact guage set used by Pineapple (with L and R letters) for a little over $100 with probes.

You'll find something. If not, then buy the Pineapple one. Don't get me wrong its good - I have one - but if I had to do it again I'd look around before ponying up the dough.

dont mean to threadjack or get too off topic, but what should EGT's look like at cruise, under load etc. 1800 seems really hot to me, but then again this is my first delve into rotary performance :) *flame teh noob!*

A decent cruising EGT at approx. 15:1 AFR is about 1500ish (F) for me.

EDIT: 1600's are not unheard of either, but you may want to feed a little more advance into your cruising areas if you're that hot (1700+).

cruise EGTs in my T2 were around 1400-1450 on the highway. Under sustained hard driving though it definately pegged 1800 (repeated boosting and redlining, 100+ mph on a race track)
