who knows subzero assist original vacuum line routing???
 

Okay, so I know that Mazda choked on trying to put this system on the intake. And also I know that everyone in this world has blocked it off...

but what I am asking is: does anyone know or have documentation that shows the original plumbing for the two vacuum hoses that were attached to this system so that I can add it to my documentation effort for OEM configurations??? Of course there seems to be no pics in the FSM and everyones emission rip out drawings.... any pictures out there???

I am looking at a 1987 TII first, then will work on all the other engine configs later.

Why?

Mazda issued a TSB that this system was to be removed.

If I remember correctly, there is only one line from the sub zero bottle to the cold start valve. On the NAs this is on the upper intake. On the TIIs, it's on the lower intake.

If you want "OEM" configuration, then you want it blocked off! As part of the service bulliten, Mazda mechanics would actually cap off + remove the canister from the car. A simple vacuum cap w/ RTV on the SZS holds fine.

Thanks Aaron, that is the fluid line. I am trying to trace the other two vacumm nipples and lines to where ever they went. This will ensure that I do not have something else hooked up to the other ends, unless I wanted to do it purposely, which is not yet the case.

Thanks adrock, I know that already, and since you did not have an answer I guess you really don't know. I am trying to figure out if one nipple on the subzero valve goes to the back of the manifold, so I can tell others what to block off, and what other lines may be involved so all the vacuum questions that are on here can be better handled.

The only line from the sub zero system that goes to the engine is the fluid line. No vacuum lines involved. :)

I think the valve on the manifold had 3 fittings on it, one of which was for the fluid. Do you remember where the other two went? I think that's what the poster is tryng to figure out, just so that he can completely document the vacuum lines.

I know the answer and ain't a gonna tell. The answer is in the parts fische which are downloadable somewhere on this forum. Look at the ENGINE and frame/page/whatever ........... 1-N4

On the N/A there were no vacuum lines. Dunno about the turbo cars though.

maybe on n/a but not for turbo, the large line goes to the CSA bottle, the vacuum line on the top line of the injector goes up to the lower vacuum nipple on the T/B air ports on the backside of the UIM.

turbo CSA equipped cars originally had 4 ports at the back of the UIM whereas later models only had 3.

Thanks for saying that. The subzero valve has the fluid line and two vacuum nipples. You confirmed what I had thought all along.

yes i was just looking at this vlave the other day it had one fluid line and TWO vacuum lines

No way Jose! There is but ONE vacuum nipple on the rear of the throttle body and THAT is for the water thermo valve for the double throttle diaphram.
