who has a pilot bearing removal tool?
 

if anybody has one that would be amazing. its for an FC.

I already went to autozone and got the ghetto one that they have. then broke it because it sucks. and the damn pilot bearing is still in there!

if anybody could help me out with a tool, or even some advice that would be great.

I described a method that I use on this thread--it's always worked for me, and should work for you, assuming you have a little space behind the bearing.

although Not Highly Recommended,I have Removed a pilot bearing with a Dremel Tool..you have to CAREFULLY cut the Edge of the Bearing and then you can Pop the Needle bearings out.then Using Delicate Care,you Grind into the inner part of the Bearing wall..all you want to do is to just Make a THIN line down the inside of the bearing.It will weaken the Bearings outer wall and you can eventually,curl it up smaller,and take it out By the Edges..using a good Set of needle nose pliers.But hey..That is Just 'MY WAY"..(and as I said,alot of people would Shudder about doing this!)

I tried the "socket w/ grease" method and now I have a socket w/ an adapter that is conveniently just slightly larger than the socket firmly stuck in my e-shaft.

I think the only way to get it out is to swear at it profusely until it leaves, or maybe a drill...

I have one, its called a Dremel.

I rented one from Auto Zone about a week ago and it worked great. Did you get some type of two pronged thing and a slide hammer?

it was a two pronged thing but there wasnt a slide hammer so i "made" one. somebody had also shaved most of one of the prongs off before i got it, maybe thats why it fit but it couldnt remove the pilot bearing?

I havent started drilling yet, but i can't wait...

The pullers I have used do not work well at all. The bearing is so thin that the jaws of the puller can't really grab on and stay put most of the time. Not to mention that the arms have to be very thin to fit inside the bearing, and so they bend easily when you try to put any pressure on them to get a bite on the bearing.

I just grind mine out, never have an issue.

I had a heck of a time with a crappy slide hammer puller that I bought. I'm glad I paid about nothing for it, as it was nowhere as good at removing it as my flywheel puller was. The flywheel puller, when used, essentially tried to thread itself into the bearing. When I pulled it out, the bearing came with it.

i've tried the bolt and grease trick and this last time i decided to buy the mazda tool from rx7.com, and it worked like a dream. no kidding it took all of about 15seconds to pull that bearing out.

i rented at pilot bearing puller from autozone and a slide hammer and it worked great

Ditto, but I had to grind down the tips of the prongs just a tad. I ended up forgetting to return it, so now I have this tool that I'll use maybe once every 10 years.
