I wanted a low mileage 91 convertible-found an immaculate 63k original owner red 'vert in Santa Monica and paid $6000-it looks and runs like new! I've added a RB cat back exhaust and Bonez intake.Looking for a Turbo II hood and Less restrictive cat replacement-then rx8 wheels and tires and we are done. Should last me forever!

but not for great reasons. This summer my old *** 929 bit the dust and about the same time my dads arthritis flared up to a next level - the disks in his back are really messed up - so he couldnt get into his (now mine) 88' vert with 92,000kms, he gave the car to me.
i am so thankful, he kept the car immaculate and low milleage and it means something more to me than just having a car given to me.

 

DAM! Looking at some of these prices i think im crazy for what i'm about to pay for a 88 NA im looking at.
He wants $3600 CDN 191 thousand KM's.. ALL original.
Got a fair sized dent in the front left side but paint and interior is in decent shape.

Think i am over paying or what?

I got my 91 FC3S N/A for 5800, oh btw it has 40,000miles on it. Excellent cond. power everything, sunroof, 4 pot vent. front disc... etc.

 

Paid $5000 for my 91 Blue Mica in 1997 with 62K on her. Sold it a few years back, and now have a 90 GXL for $800. Of course, it need a new heart.

 

thanks for the kind words..... yeah its shitty but at leat i get to help him descide on a new car..... anybody got ideas???? it needs to be higher for him to bend down into. he loves the jagxk8 wouldnt that be cool. i dont know. he needs somethin pretty, form is definatley ahead of function for him....... we'll see

 

my vert is so much like yours. 88' black with charcoal ish interior, bbs-ers. i havent done much yet just want to get it running top notch ( t2 swap when engine goes - long time) k&n drop on, redid all speakers(except headrest - there fine) with rockford's...w what do you have planned???

 

Keeping her stock. My GXL is awaiting for a 13b motor, and that'll be my race-only car.

However, i'll be upping the exhaust system on the 'vert soon, as well as what's in my sig... otherwise keeping it stock. I need this car to last me, for a long time.

 

i got mine for 180 bucks....its pretty tore up, doesnt run, rear half of interior is gone

and im not starting on it till i get my civic finished......a b18 swap, seats, roll bar, sway bars, wheels+tires all within 4-6 monthes....im getting my swap next week

 

I paid 1500 for an 88 vert in europe with only 70K miles on it

 

The more i read the more i feel i got ripped off...87 N/a for $4000 76k miles and single owner in excellent condition. I guess it's not that bad maybe it's just the market where i live. Oh well i'm glad i bought it!

 

1grand for a theft recovery. Not the best at first but when I started digging I found the mods.

Street ported motor with only 6k miles
somplete custom exhaust with no cats
new tokico suspension
and some removed emissions.

The only thing wrong with it is that the theives took a knife to the int and top but I used the stuff off of my old car and got it like new.

 

88 TII for 2700 when I was NM. The guy was leaving to move back overseas and had to get rid of asap. 114,00 miles on the od, nice and chinny paint no dents and the only thing wrong is the wiper switch only works in 1 setting.

 

I looked for a little over two years and finally found an 88' GXL in fair condition for $1200.. It had 148000 on it.. Everything works(power windows, sunroof, clock).. With a few bucks and some TLC it will be a great car..

 

GTUs for $500. minor dent in fender, no motor.
