Who appreciates a bone stock look? (pics)

I was just wondering if any of you like the bone stock look of the FC. I always see how everyone is trying to change the look of their FC with headlight mods, wheels, carbon fiber, etc.

I want to know what you think of this car. I found it surfing the net and downloaded the pics; saved them to my hardrive and then uploaded again. Big PITA!

FreedS4 03-24-02 08:54 PM

Personally I think the RX-7 should stay stock on the outside. It looks awesome in every form, except maybe for the rims. That's just my 2 cents.

Chris

FreedS4 03-24-02 08:57 PM

O yea, that car looks very nice. Where can i get a set of rims like that(I know they're the stock rims)?

Chris

tmak26b 03-24-02 09:09 PM

Just need a spoiler

crasher2 03-24-02 09:45 PM

about the rims, go to www.rx7world. com this guy have some plus others.

And ithink that the car looks good that way to, but we allhave our own ideas

Irrigated_Onion 03-24-02 10:20 PM

Is that car lowered?

tmak26b 03-24-02 10:23 PM

No, lowered car on 15 inch wheel is ghetto like mine.

stickgoat 03-24-02 10:25 PM

I love the stock look of the RX-7....all generations. Such beautiful pieces of machinery.

RarestRX 03-24-02 10:34 PM

Yo,

I think that car looks really really nice. The more naked RX-7 rear ends I see, the more I want to get rid of my stock wing. Of course it would be a huge PITA, so it stays.

You really don't see that many clean stock FC's, so when you see one that is super clean it definitely looks "Cool" to me.

Here's some pics of my rig, the only thing I want to change is the ride-height.

Bambam7 03-24-02 10:44 PM

The 7 is a great looking car- But I think it looks better with 17" rims and a 1" drop.
NEEDS A SPOILER
I hate the way they look without.

I really like a BONE stock, BARE BASE model, if it's IMMACULATE- I mean perfect, showroom condition. Don't ask me why.

stickgoat 03-24-02 10:56 PM

That GTUs is so gorgeous......

Gimme! :D

rico05 03-24-02 11:04 PM

Rims:Yes. Gauges and racing seats:Yes. Wings, trick headlights, white lights, no. The FC is a sexy car from the dealer. If it ain't broke don't fix it!!!

tmak26b 03-24-02 11:05 PM

I am still debating if 16 inch will look too small on my car with eibach springs. I am trying to trade them for a set of AE springs with 27K miles

Thaniel 03-25-02 11:34 AM

Yah, Stock look is good except, need a rear wing and the rear window needs to be tinted. Just wish the blue paint didn't fade so fast.

dcamcoTII 03-25-02 11:41 AM

I like mine :-Dwww.angelfire.com/dc/dcamco/picpage.html

Gimpdiggity 03-25-02 11:51 AM

I agree with most here. Stock on the outside is WAY tight. On the inside, go ahead and put the Recaro's and gauges and stuff.

The only things I want to change about the way my car looks on the outside is the ride height and the wheels. Other than that, it's gonna look pretty much stock.

KenshinFC 03-25-02 01:01 PM

I like the stock look of the 89-91 FCs cuz of the front bumper and tail light conversions. But I also like the 10th anni look too. Most FCs already look great stock but with the right bodywork, FCs can also look great with bodymods.

rx7-rage 03-25-02 01:34 PM

i like the stock look of the RX-7........only thing i did exterior was the headlight cover, and the updating of the taillights....and i am planning on putting the 89+ front bumper on there too.......
here are a few pics

turbotwista 03-25-02 02:33 PM

I like the look stick but I love the way it looks with some 17's a better spoiler ground effects and drop it a 1" racing seats gauges killer stereo and some carbon fiber trim. Other than that it looks great. Since I am about broke stock will do for now.

tmak26b 03-25-02 02:38 PM

i like the stock look, it seems that everytime i see my car i like the look even more. the only problem with it is the pop-ups, they ruin the lines of the car when they are up. i would prefer to have pop-ups that do a full 180 when on, and have a bubble type light on the other side.

Justin

turbotwista 03-25-02 02:59 PM

you talking to me tmak?

tmak26b 03-25-02 04:16 PM

turbotwista 03-25-02 04:44 PM

tmak26b 03-25-02 04:53 PM

SpeedRacer 03-25-02 05:07 PM

I like stock look...Heres mine, I have 225's on it now, and the GC coilover kit, although it doesn't look THAT much lower than in these pics.

sharp looking car!

Stock look rocks! Especially when you have the spoiler..

DCmina 03-25-02 06:20 PM

I must admit that when I first got my RX-7, I didn't really like the look of it. But as time went by I learned to love it more and more.

I just saw a S5 for the first time up close and I must admit that it looks ten times better than my 88!

gold87na 03-25-02 06:37 PM

Stock look is incredible! I love pulling aside a "getto'd honda" and totally crushing it at half-throttle..! All that look must add a lot of hp... hahaha

91vert 03-25-02 07:00 PM

I love the stock look of these cars. It is amazing how great they still look even 10+ years old. I think Mazda really concentrated on making the exterior styling not too crazy looking, but sleek and simple enough to retain its looks for a few years. However, the interiors are an embarrasment IMO....looks like late 70's interior to me.

My car (below) is all stock, and there is nothing I want to do to the exterior at all...except maybe new paint.
