Where's all my Supercharged FC guys?!
I'm purchasing a Nelson/Paxton Supercharger this weekend and was wondering if there is anyone out there still running a s.c either a oldskool nelson one, or the camden s.c.
Post pics of ur setup or give any advice that would help me out! I appreciate it! Thanks, Aaron |
No one out there is running a camden or Paxton setup??
|
Theres a couple people running the camden setup. I don't recall hearing about anyone with the Paxton setup, though.

WOuld be nice to see a paxton setup.

Yeah, I honestly know almost nothing about it, other than the fact that it exists.

The way I see it a Centrifugal blower could be a good add on to a rotary, if you arent concerned with low end torque. :)
It would definitely be a personal choice though, as I am sure most of the turbo guys are now itching to jump in here and tell me why the centrifugal blower sucks and it would make more sense to go turbo. BC |
trying not to sound liek an ass....but do these work on NA models...and whats the results
(im waiting for a search) so thats what ill do! |
=) paxton setup is a centrifugal s.c i found one in good condition so i purchased it, it will def. be apart of the "Major Project Section" that Cake made. I really like the idea of turboing a car however when you start upgrading the fuel system and start runnin' more psi, you have to then upgrade the drivetrain which by than its basically a TII that cost more likely. And how many ppl run superchargers these days?? Cobras, Cobalts, etc..i just want something to have some fun with that has mid hp and dont forget about that whine whether you like it or not you know excalty what that cars running when you boosts by you..
I just want something unique. Aaron |
here's a link. http://pbgarrott.tripod.com/pgsupercharger/index.html
Not very encouraging that's why I'm experimenting w/ a different blower off a Mazda Millenia sc. Twin screws are more efficient but I have yet to find the time lately to start my project except for collecting all the parts. |
Yeah, would love to see a mellinia charger setup finished. I wish I had the time to do it myself, but its just not in the cards.
|
Patience, RX brethren. Soon I will be done w/ my home remodel and shall do my best to get this done. Getting impatient myself.

Just read the site and saw this:

I'm debating an Eaton M90 setup, however I am still very confused on the route I am taking. I have T2 halfshafts, diff, trans, clutch waitning to go in. That means I still need a few parts for the drivetrain, then I'll start on the engine.

Im not sure if it was you who I pointed in this direction, but: Take a look at www.clubgp.com You should be able to find M90s for cheap, and air-water intercoolers for relatively cheap. Plus you can find pulleys from 4.1" to 2.6". The stock pulley is 3.8". You shold be able to buy up the necessary parts for an IC'd blower for a few hundred dollars. Would be a good starting place. You can get the GTP throttle body,w hich obviosuly bolts straight to the blower, and rig it up. If you go stndalone it also has the hotwaire maf built in. BC |
Cool, thanks I was trying to find a forum like that. I already have the standalone taken care of with my megasquirt. I was planning on using the TB from the charger too. However, I was thinking of using a custom made adapter to replace the UIM with the blower, while also moving the alt to the side some. Then to top it off for cooling, it would probably be AI.

Well you can easily find series 3 M90's off of pre-03 GTPs for cheap over at clubgp. The Series 5 though is the one you want. its more expensive and hard to find, but its efficiency is something like 5-8% better thant he series 3. On a roots blower that is a very significant increase. You could easily make a UIM to hold the blower and attach to the LIM. thats actually something that I hadnt thought of, but with the orientationof the LIM that would probably be the best route.
If you do get a blower from the GP site then the L67 TB is the best option. It is a factory fit. The only issues I can think of is that you will need to find a short nose hub to drive the blower instead of the long nose hub that is on there. Well, that would be my guess. :) BC |
just to come in and add sometin random....... i went for a ride in atkinsrotary 13b powered fb that was supercahrged it was fast and it was an automatic it almost made me like the fb a little.....

Here's a few images of the Paxton setup...

i like the paxton setup and i've talked to a few ppl with the kit, they loved it and had almost no problems other than the pulley overspinning. thks for the pics
How much hp you think an FD fuel pump, 720 secondaries, safc could handle safely? Anyone recommend an aftermarket fpr? i didnt think so, but running 720's might require me too.. |
