where is the OMP?

So I am pretty new to the FC and have determined that I need to swap out my OMP. I've been searching and searching and have been unable to find a guide or even a location of where the pump is. Sorry for the stupid question but it seems that everyone already knows where it is or what to do with it!

Said differently, why the heck do you think you need to "swap" it out?

After some research on the forum it seems that's the concensus. My car keeps dropping into limp mode after 20 min of driving and throws a code 27 and 13.

You also need to check your ecu then.

You'll find it below the mail pulley just to the passenger side. You'll see four plastic lines coming up from it about the size of a very skinny straw.

Thumbs up for doing the research. The PDF FSM is going to be your best friend going forward.

I have done that and opened the ecu casing. Wasn't sure what I was checking besides to see if there were any obvious signs of damage or burn marks.

The car only drops into limp mode after a a decent while of driving and is very intermittent with it, so I'm thinking my ecu has been spared. I have parked the car since this happened maybe 4-5 times total.

If you think it isn't working properly, I would suggest premixing until you resolve your issue just to be sure you don't run dry. Just an idea.

In my S5 AutoVert i had a TPS that the plungers functioned just fine on a bench test. But once they were heated up by the engine one of the plunger would stick and the engine would go into limp mode. Engine cools down, ran great. Engine heated up, limp mode.

Kind of sounds like what you're seeing.

What did you do to correct the issue?

And what do you do about the code 13? Replace the pressure sensor by the passenger shock tower n350?

durtled 11-18-11 02:03 PM

I assume hozzman replaced the tps. on s5 there's 2 black square body with round plunger sensors around the throttle linkage. maybe get your car warm and see if they move ez maybe not while the car is running...but...if not well then the choice is yours.... for code 13 I would first unplug the pressure sensor make sure its got good connection then if no go....look on For Sale HERE. shouldn't be to hard to find a n350. and the code 27 I would start the same way then follow up with looking at the lines as southsidecox stated if no go start looking for one of those also...midnightbluefc said he had one i also have one from deleting my omp. if your feeling lucky go to a local junkyard might find a n/a fc in there hopefully a s5 for your reasons....pro tip. take the taillights if its an s5 lol.

HOZZMANRX7 11-18-11 03:42 PM

Replace the TPS was the fix in my case.

I'm just suggesting you check your TPS as it also would explain your symptoms. But it certainly doesn't tie to your codes.

mkiv98 11-18-11 05:28 PM

i ordered an omp from here but who knows if its any good. does the code 13 have anything to do with 27? it strikes me as odd that id get them both at the same time
