where are the holes in the firewall?
i need to run a power wire for an amp thru the firewall and i really dont wanna drill it... anyone know a good hole that already exists/can b used for this?
|
i always use the hole that the spoodo cable goes through. just knock out the plastic outer plub, and it works great.
|
does that mean im going to have to remove my gauges again? (already spent days fighting them to install the blue faces)
|
not at all......
|
Now why didn't I think of that. Ive been trying to find a place to run the hose for my damn boost gauge...lol
|
lol sry speeddemon but ur gonna have 2 clarrify 4 me. where exactly will the wire come into the cabin?
|
no problem, under the dash, kind behind the gas pedal is the speedo cabel running through a plastic "casing" just pull the casing out. (i think i did this from the engine bay side.)
it leaves you with a nice big hole with nothing but a speedo cable. (or throttle cabel.,... but i think its the speedo) |
would u recomend putting this casing back in, so nothing gets in it?
|
no you cann't the inner hole is only big enough for the speedo cable.
unless you find a way to drill out the center. its all up to you, i didnt, i just had a little hole in the fire wall (after 4 guage, 8 guage, and all acc. wires, the big hole wasnt so big anymore.) |
The chassis wiring harness enters through a rubber grommet underneath the clutch master cylinder. That is the ideal place to run wires (especially thick ones). While it's a little bit of a pain to get to, it is well protected and has plenty of space to fit even thick cables.
|
ill have to try that next time.
thanks |
Would one of those be a good place to run mechanical gauge senders through as well? Obviously protect the tube with something.

ever heard of a drill? lol. i have no AC, so i have lots of good places. On cars with AC, i usually drill a new hole, but if you dont like that idea, run it thru:
A) wire harness hole (under clutch master cylinder, or by cruise control thing if its on the pass. side. B) Steering column hole...works good, and very easy to get to, but make sure it cant get caught on the bolt that sticks out and wrap around the column. C) speedo hole or one of the AC holes pat |
anybody know why my damn sig doesnt work?
