BTW: (can i get it anywhere besides a mazda store) By the way, I think this part is often overlooked as the source of fuel hesitation-related problems. When I first got my car, it would hesitate and sputter very bad over about 4000 rpm, but only some of the time. The problem was very intermittent. As time went on, it just got worse and worse. The previous owner had spent about $600 to try and fix this problem. After I had the car for about a month I realized it got worse as the fuel got lower in the tank. It ends up the pump couldn't suck fuel through the filter very well because it was so clogged. There was some rust at the bottom of the tank that would suck up around the filter when the tank was low, and the car couldn't get enough fuel. After the last owner spent $600, it only ended up needing a $12 part from Pep Boys. |
i think its the reason for my left turn hesitation

Isn't the one in the tank a fuel screen/mesh/sock/strainer???? It is reusable if it isn't damaged. Clean it.
Did you already replace the main/real fuel filter under the car? How's the fuel pressure? Visit your local super duper car parts store for the fuel pump strainer. If the parts store has electric fuel pumps, they will have various size mesh socks. They are pretty much universal and they should be able to match it, if you bring yours with you. www.autozone.com (thieves) ~$15 fuel pump strainer(varies NA/Turbo/year) $18 fuel line filter Don't make left turns:D |
haha, yeah, i replaced the filter on the bottom of the car (boy was that the biggest bitch ever
