where does the coolant go?
 

lately ive been having to add coolant to my car may be once every 4 days or so, almost a whole 32oz cup of water/antifreeze, ive checked all the hoses for splits and loose hose clamps and ive found nothing wrong them, it has been running a little hot too, like three fourths of the way up on the gauge. there is no leakage any where, every time i get done driving it i look underneath and its bone dry no drips or anything. please help if you have any suggestions. thank you.

You *MIGHT* have an O ring problem which is not good.
Try check around the water pump area if you see some white residue (coolant dries to a white color). If there is a leak or water pump failing, you'll see it. There is a peep hole at the bottom. Another check would be to open your radiator cap/ water filler cap and see if bubbles are present when the engine is running. That would indicate O ring failure and it will get worse. Check for any white residue. If it is a turbo, there is a water line going to the turbo and that might be leaking as well.

Do you mean I need a new water pump or is it worse than that? I am gonna change the radiator cap tommorow just in case.

Check the hose from throttle body to rear rotor also. I had a very small leak that would get sprayed onto exhaust manifold and not be visible when I was looking for a leak.

I had a very fine crack on the pressure cap housing. changed it out with one in better condition and never had that problem since.

I just noticed my water pump has been leaking, and it wasn't dripping under the car. The foam under the radiator and oil cooler was soaking it all up.

The last leak I had was the coolant line from the rear rotor to the TB.

My advice to those loosing coolant is to put a pressure tester on the radiator and pump it up when the car is cold. Watch the gauge and keep the pressure @15 lbs and eventually you will spot the leak. Works every time. I believe they can be rented. The problem trying to find it when hot is very difficult as stated by UniqueTII and black7.
