where can I buy a cat for my 88?

the pos on it now is junk and hollow to boot. so it sounds like crap and I think it is messing up my auxillary ports.

I need to know where for the best price and like yesterday fast so I can get this under control.

sounds like crap and car doesnt run any better for it. stock exhaust on it now except for 1 rigged up cat.

Cody has a extra cat but I don't think he'd let you borrow/buy skeletor. ;)

Since you have a S4 you most likley aren't opening your ports up with an open cat.

I have a Bonez Superflo down pipe and high flow cat.

It was like 250 or something new.

It removes the precats and puts a down pipe with a wool pack in it to reduce sound.

With a Corksport single it is loud but sounds sooooo awesome.

Before it I had a straight pipe to a crappy cat and it had a honda-ish rasp on the high revs.

The Bonez made it deep and it growled. I loved it.

I have a turbo engine now though so I'm selling it.Not sure if it will fit on a vert. Not sure if fitment is an issue.

BTW I passed emmisions with that setup easily.

well you can go to autozone and get a universal for like $200 then weld some flanges on it . or you could go to a mazda dealer and get one for around $500 somthing like that but it all dipends if you or a firend can weld well.
i have gutted cats ind it sounds sooo much better than stock and it runs great(for a 196,000 mile car)

A piston engine cat will last a week or so in our exhaust systems.

We do not have heads for the exhaust to pass through and cool down.

exhaust is directly put our of the engine and into the cats.

You will need a cat which can take lots of heat. That's why you need a rotary exclusive cat.

That is also why it's easy for us to blow flames out an open exhaust.

I ordered the Bonez pipe /high flow cat kit today for $315. 00 so that should fix the crappy sound problem and get my ports working right. Next I am trying to decide on the cat back part.

since I didnt plan on all this I am looking at the Borla exhaust from www.Nopistons.com for $389 or something . I really want to keep the dual pipes even if it is heavier or what ever.

I think with the high flow Bonez cat and silencer the Borla will not be too loud.

sound OK?

looks like my only real option right now even though I always like the RB systems.

I have the downpipe/high flow cat and I hate it - far too loud. The car booms. The only reason I have not replaced it yet is that it is on my convertible and these days I almost never put the top up.

With the top down the noise is bearable.

In future, I plan to reinstall all three cats. They can be purchased from most any muffler shop, but I have to find someone who understands that the pipes of the cat need to be welded to the inside of the flange.

(The last shop I delt with could not understand that pushing the pipe through the flange and then expanding the rim was not correct.)

It should saound really good.

Pretty much the cat back is a nice look and reduces sound.

The down pipe and cat give it the awesome deep growl.

My ports actuated fine with it as well.

Get some PB blaster for those nasty old bolts.

Never seen the Borls but maybe some one can chime in.

The RB is said to be the most quiet of them all which also has gains.

Depending on how loud my car is after the turbo I might get a dual system since dual systems will naturally be quieter. Maybe Dual N1's or RB
