where to buy exhaust tubing

i bought a universal hi-flow metalic cat a little while ago and im having trouble finding the right kind of tubing. im specifically looking for 1/8th inch wall thinkness 2.5 inch diameter tubing, and all i can find is 1/16th inch wall thickness. i want the thicker wall for noise control since they will be connecting my RB headers to the cat and cat-back. anyone know where i can find this kind of tubing?

Being that thick of a wall thickness you will not find it looking for "exhaust tubing". Try your phone book under metal supplier. Just remember - The tube will not be coated like the tubing from your local mighty muffler.

Burns stainless has plenty of great materials. They may be a little on the expensive side though. If you're looking for something on the cheaper side, check out jegs and summit. They have aluminized stuff.

like i said, i want it thick for noise control. and i tried burns stainless, all they have is the 1/16th inch stuff

Thick tubes is an extreme way to go about noise control. Get good mufflers first.

Hell, just wrap the exhaust with exhaust wrap...

Grab the phone book, look up "Tubing: Metal" in the yellow pages. Around here we have stores called "Metal Supermarkets" that are literally as the name suggests. They have isles of racks of metal and you can walk in with a small cart. :) I just bought 10 feet of 2.5" 12 gauge stainless tubing for $180 Canadian.

Burns Stainless is great but the prices are high and the shipping can be murder. If you just want tubing, buy it locally. Surly there must be a performance exhaust shop around in the Bay Area of California? :)

I built my complete 4 inch turbo back exhaust and got all the SS pipe from www.ATPturbo.com
