where to buy aftermarket stock fenders?
 

i cant seem to find any sites that sell oem stlyle fenders . ebay has 3 of them for $130+ shipped oem metal one new . but they are s5 style fenders does it matter if i have a s4 ? can i swap my moldings over? i just need a pass side one .

i was gonna say Mazda has them, but you can't afford it, FB01-52-111C, msrp is $407.83

dunno why that's so crazy, an FD fender is half that...

FD body panels are mostly paint sprayed over a mesh of hopes/dreams...which you'd think would be expensive but apparently, is not.

whats the FC fender made from? oil leaks and curb rash?

any local auto body shop can order them and you wont pay shipping

I think you can just swap the molding and it look alright, but if you go fiberglass, the moldings are... molded into the fender. I mean it's all one piece. At least they were on mine.

As one of the sellers of those fenders...have you ever actually packaged and shipped a fender? Do you have any idea of the true size of it, or the time spent on the other end? If you're buying a used part, that seller is not going to have access to specifically made packaging for fenders...so they have to make it themselves. Then they are going to pay 50-80 dollars to UPS to ship it AFTER they've spent their own time and tape packaging it. So in reality that fender they're selling for $130 shipped actually makes them about $35 once all is said and done.

Apparently people feel like this is a ripoff, if they were to pay that much for a good used fender shipped. Meanwhile on my end I question whether the time spent is even worthwhile considering the relatively low profit. So you wind up with both parties somewhat unhappy with the money involved, and now you know why cars with perfectly good fenders are crushed every day across the country.

Try the junkyards locally, also check www.car-part.com which is a database for junkyards who've chosen to list their parts online.

Heck I got my s4 Turbo block after looking for one on www.car-part.com for a couple days, it was a couple hours away but it was only $250+ tax and turned out to have housings that are like new according to Kevin (rotary resurrection). The price merely to ship an engine is $160 and it only costed me like $50 in gas.

So if you can find a good deal locally I'd go for that, its totally more cost efficient. You could potentially get the fenders for less than the cost of shipping.

I let mine go on my parts car for $25 each years ago because I like to give a good deal to those in need, plus the car was going to the junkyard anyways.

well usually when people ask for a used part, a new one is cheaper, but not in this case.

wat? i never complained about the money im complaing about finding one for a s4 thats why i asked if that s5 one will work if i swap my moldings over and its metal . i need it for nextweekend . but ill figure it out

yes a s5 one will work, and again check a local auto body shop they can order the fender for you no shipping. Its all the same shit only one company makes that stuff

the fender is actually marked 86-91 when you get it. The holes are there for the s5 moldings ut you can just stick your s4 molding on there.
The only snafu is if you want to use the stock clip for the TIi skirts- then you have to drill a hole for it but thats not a problem for you.
