When Throwing Flames

When i am getting on the gas petal and i get up to high rpm's i throw flames because of my straight pipe :D ....but my question is...when i throw flames a puff of smoke comes out at the same time...flames look cool but is the smoke normal....it only comes out for a brief second...while flaming.....let me know

Peace

You shouldn't be throwing flames on acceleration, but in-between shifts. And you must have a blowoff valve venting to the air. This is because you create a rich condition in-between shifts if the fuel is still in the combustion chamber and doesn't get burned until it hits the exhaust (which ignites the fuel). If you are accelerating, the air/fuel mixture should be relatively even so no unburned gases escape into the exhaust.

Sorry thats what i meant...when i let off the gas...like in between shifts...i dont have a turbo so i dont need the bov....so is the smoke normal?

The smoke is normal-
Its also cuased by the rich condition between shifts.

the Apexi S-AFC has a function that is supposed to prevent that on deceleration. I don't know if its worth the 300+ for you but thought I would let you know.

Yeah the AFC has the Decel setting, but that has never made my 86 TII not shoot fire. If anything, it helped me shoot more fire depending on how much boost I hit and how cold it was outside. After I installed the F-CON, it was much harder to shoot fire though, but the Haltech is going in now, so I will be back to the old' fire shooter =)
