When I turn the steering wheel it makes gross noise

hey

well everytime I'm in a parking lot turning, a strange like squeeling noise starts up. It's not rubbing because my tires are smaller than stock (snow tires) and it doesn't just happen when the wheel is turned all the way. It's really getting annoying but I dont know why it's doing this. I just replaced the power steering belt but it still squeels. The fluid is like half way could that be the problem?

thanks
any help would be apreciated

it could be that your cv axles are going bad... do you notice it more when you turn one direction than the other? Have you checked you CV boots recently? Just a thought.. someone who knows a little more than I may have a better idea.

Power steering pump or belts slipping, cv joints make clicking and banging noises when turning.

... ... yeah, they especially do that on front wheel drive cars...

BTW, they are called constant velocity joints. They make the jointed side run at the constant velocity even if its at an angle. That said, stop thinking our cars have cv joints on the steering system.

Refill your PS fluid and that should fix your problem...

or clean the pulley and tighten the belt. ;)

i had a truck that did this, is it a whining sound? if it is, then it is the power steering pump, check the fluid and keep it topped off, that should help....
