Wheel Spacers
 

Hey guys i searched and came up with nothing. Right now im running 225/50/16 toyo's for autox and i just bought 5mm wheel spacers and was wondering if i need longer studs and if i do then how long do they need to be.

for a spacer that thin I dont think longer studs are necessary

You might need something to hold it on better. Instead of getting new studs they have these weird lug nuts that are called ET lug nuts I believe. They are like normal but have a long skinny part at the end so it can screw down through the hole in the rim. That way the grab on to more threads besides what is sticking out of the wheel.
You can probly find them at a local tire shop that's where I got mine from.

i just got to thinking exactly how thin is 5mm is it like the size of the heigth of the little quote box

As long as your lug nuts cover threads that equal the diameter of the stud you're good. So even if the stud is flush with the nut you are usually OK.

I think my spacers are 5mm also...I don't NEED extended studs but....I would recommend it for drifting. My lugs don't thread on very deep. I like the ET lug idea that a_drift suggested, I'll be looking into that.

Its very simple to see if you need spacers:

If you can not get 6 full turns on a lug nut, then you need spacers. 6 Full turns...not 5 and 3/4, not 5 1/2 turns, but at least 6 full turns.

Anything less than 6 full turns and there is not sufficent thread to lock the nut on when the nut is tight.

You would have to bore out most wheels to do that
