wheel fitment question
currently I have autostrada modenas 17x7.5 +35 with 205/50s which because they are the rim protection style tyres were super close to my coilovers up front (8.5s on the rear). I've found some 18x9.5 +15s I'm pretty keen on. does anyone know what offset 9.5s fit up front. I'm not gonna run guard liners.

note I'm only concerned with inner clearance not outer, I'll get wide fenders if need be
|
inner full lock problems also something to consider...

notice it said the maximum offset on a 9" wheel in front is +20 so with a little math you can figure that the maximum offset on a 9.5" would be about +8 or around there.. but that can't be completely accurate because i have seen 17x9.5+15 mb battles on the front of an fc with no problems.. as long as you have coilovers and the right tire size you should be able to fit the wheels you want. i'd say you wouldn't want any more than a 245 in front and if you plan on going wide fenders in the front, you may run a spacer you make room on the inside.. |
Or you could have simply scrolled a little further down to the wheel/suspension/tire forum dedicated to questions such as yours:

Or you could have read a little more rather than create clutter. 15 years of posts to this forum, I have no doubt any possible question you could possibly think of has been asked more than a few times somewhere in this web site. The only thing premature was you creating this redundant thread.
Hint: Us the advanced search function so you can focus your question to that specific forum. I just did that and found 7 pages of threads where 9.5 width on an FC was specifically addressed headlined by the all encompassing FC fitment thread the link below will take you to. Took me a whole 15 seconds. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=9.5+fc You're welcome. |
to be honest never noticed the search within a topic tab sorry but
hint: don't be a dick not all of us have been on here for 11 years and "beachFC" answered it for me before you. no more redundant than the hundreds of poor idle, hesitates at x rpm, omp/premix, starting issue threads that are always posted.get this thread deleted if it so bothers you. |
Yeah people don't realize that "flaming" takes up just as much space as "stupid posts"
I only "flame" people in the for sale section hahaha.. |
hahaha thanks thats so true and thanks for the link. clears it up a bit just not sure on the poke, camber, tyres combo. might just bite the bullet and run wide fenders if need be (but glass the vents, not a fan)
|
So, because it was "a little tiresome" for you to answer the question yourself you decided to add to "the hundreds" of redundant threads because you were lazy.
And I'm the dick? Got it. Look, the search function is BY FAR the most valuable aspect of this forum. I don't care if you're just getting into the wankle game or have been in it since wankle engines were introduced. You will always find something either you didn't know or need an reminder about. Take a little time exploring the filters to expand your skills using it and you'll be amazed how rapid your learning curve about RX7's grow. And the best part, you can continue to be lazy as it actually takes less effort as you get your answer right away rather than waiting to monitor a redundant thread. |
Ah, internet fights.......
I love when you search for stuff and all you get in the "search" is old posts of whisenhimers saying to "search" At this rate we could shut down the site becouse all of our questions can be answerd by searching.... |

celestial-fc I just checked out your build (turns out id seen it before) looks awesome! fitment is perfect and those wheels are pretty damn fine. gives me a much better idea of how they'll fit. I can get 9.5s +12p which will be 3mm closer inside and 7mm further out which shouldn't require wide fenders and I already flared out mine a bit. cheers
and damn that's crazy with the tyres and hatch, hope they had their hands removed for it. |
I used this converter to help see if the BBS wheels i wanted off a Skyline would fit up. Try this link its really helpful, wheel offset is at the bottom.
