wheel bearing

My '87 has the 14" four lug wheel. My front wheel bearing needs replacement and the dealer tells me neither the hub, nor the bearing is sold by Mazda any longer. Does anyone know of an aftermarket bearing including the race which can be pressed into my wheel? I'd rather not chance a junkyard hub and wind up pulling one that's as bad or worse than the one I have. Thanks!

as far as I remember Mazda sell it as a whole and yea its NLA.

Just replace the bearings, thousands of place sell them.

The race is also worn.
Is that available in the aftermarket and is it an easy replacement? I'm afraid just replacing the bearing will give me the same problem due to premature bearing wear. Thanks again!

Yea the race will be easy to get also .. It is possible they will come as a set ,,Just get the numbers off the old stuff so they can cross them over .. If you buy them locally take the old stuff with you ..

yes, just about any auto parts store will have them or can get them.

Idea: if the race is shit too,Just put up a WTB 4 lug front hub assembly on the Ads.
then buy new bearings and you are golden.
I was lucky awhile back and got a NEW set of 5 lug hubs in a bunch of stuff that a Former Rx7 Shop had,,just Pitchin it IF nobody bought it!..I looked into the price of them and just about had a heart attack!

Doesn't mazdatrix sell the wheel bearing and provide instructions?

The bearings and races can be easily replaced. Most any auto parts store will carry the bearings and seals. You will need an inner and outer bearing for each side as well as a grease seal and new cotter pin for the castle nut.

Replacement is pretty easy if you have access to a welder as shown here:

Brilliant idea! And great pics. I'll get it touch with a welder buddy of mine and give it a go. Much appreciated to everyone who responded.
