This problem started in november when i couldnt start my car (it wasnt flooded i know about that stuff) i got it pushed started fine parked it about 45 min later started fine , I went home parked it, next day It wouldnt start. Tryed push starting it on a hill by my house but it would'nt go ( it tryed to go but wouldnt ) . its making this whining noise when i go to start it now. I think its the starter but why wouldnt i be able to push start it ? any info would be greatly apreciated

How do you know it wasn't flooded? My TII whines when it's really flooded.

Because i let it sit all winter and it still does it and i also did the fuse trick the other time too .

injectors will leak over time. leaking is inevitable. Next time try removing the 40a fusse under the hood (while the car is running) when you want to park the car for an allotted time where the problem usually occurs. If the fuse trick works then you have leaky injectors. You can wire a switch to your fuel pump or clean your injectors.

Yea but the problem is i can't get the car started it wont push start either:mad:

stop forcing it cause you could be damaging a housing due to a loose seal or major carbon buildup.

Pull the plugs and try getting some atf or seafoam in there. Marvel mystery oil works as well.

What seems jammed up? You should be able to turn the engine over by hand or a small wrench. very little friction.

Kastle 04-20-02 10:57 AM

mmm , how would i be able to turn the engine over by hand ???

Kastle 04-20-02 03:55 PM

Read the replies again. They contain the answers....

Here's my suggestion. Remove the top two spark plugs. Into each hole, pour about 1.5 ounces of 10W-30 oil. Leave the spark plugs out, and turn the engine over slowly by hand by moving the front pully. Turn it over a few times to get the oil circulated. Now put your plugs back in, make sure the battery is fully charged, and start the car...

Others may tell you to use ATF instead of oil, but I suggest oil since it is easier on the engine than ATF...

Wouldn't 2 cycle engine oil work better than regular oil since it wont leave all that carbon behind? Just a thought I'm not sure. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I don't want anyone to mess up their engines cause of me.

OKAY........I think i now have compression the car wants to start but its still not going , its so close tho.. Could one of the spark plugs not be firing?? would that make a difference , PLEASE HELP !!!!!

You should be able to start the car by doing just that. Pour a small amount of oil in the leading plug holes, then put the pluge in and turn the front pulley by hand to circulated the oil and gas. Then try to start the car.

Kastle 04-24-02 04:31 PM

i didi that already

RX-7Impreza 04-24-02 07:56 PM

is the only reason that you think it isnt flooded because it sat all winter like this?????

a rotary will stay flooded until you unflood it, i say try the efi fuse trick

or push the gas pedal in all the way and try to crank it, this cuts off the fuel.
