What's thickest spacer you can use on rims?
 

On mazdatrix it's a 5mm. Is this the biggest you can use on a 7? The rims I want are 48 offset and barely rub the stock springs. The back doesn't rub at all.

I googled for it, but no luck.

I have the same problem with my rx-8 wheels. Basically you want to make sure you can still get a full 3 turns on your lugnuts after they are torqued down. I think I can only get 2 and the tires up front rub the spring just a lil. Pretty sure I have 1/4 inch spacers on. What size are your tires in the front?

I have a 5 mm spacer up front on the 7 and a 25mm in the rear. I haven't had any problems at all. The rear spacer is a bolt on though.

I'm gonna try to get my wifes boss to make me some custom aluminum spacers. Maybe I'll get the back ones a bit thicker than the front.

there is no "size limit"
it just gets ridiculous.
there's a 300zx TT around town that has 3 1/2 inch spacers on the rears so it'll fit better on its wide body kit.
looks horrible though.

That is TERRIBLE advice, VERY dangerous. You need at a minimum the fastener diameter of thread engagement, which is 8 (EIGHT) turns (12x1.5, so 12/1.5=8), not 3 or 2. You're damned lucky the wheels haven't fallen off yet.

There is no one maximum width for bolt through spacers, it depends on the wheel. The limit is that you can get at MINIMUM eight FULL turns of the lug nut in our case. If that's a problem, get the spacers that have their own lugs (can't get much less than 1" though), or get longer lugs.

hmm, perhaps I heard wrong. I was once told this by a guy that was a partial owner of a wheel company. Even though he said it would be cool, I was never all that comfortable with it and haven't really driven the car much with them on. Been looking around for longer studs.

ARP studs for the Corvette fit, the 2.5" ones in back and 3.25" ones in front give you just under 1" longer in the back and a little over 1" longer in front. This requires hub removal, which in the front isn't a big deal, but in the rear it requires a press, but it's a good opportunity to replace those tired old wheel bearings.

yea I found a couple places that sell the ARP ones, I wonder if the ones mazdatrix sells are strong enough, they are significantly cheaper.

Black91n/a is completely right min is roughly 8 turns for our cars. If you find yourself starting to run out of thread you need extended wheel studs. Here is another link to studs that fit our cars

I use to run 5mm up front and 15mm in the back on stock S5TII wheels and they fit real nice

Wow, I need to take another look at exactly how many I've got on mine. I could put longer studs up front no prob and get open ended lug nuts and take the spacer off the rear for now until I can get the hubs off and bearings pressed out.

It would appear that Mazdatrix is re-selling the ARP parts individually, so it only seems cheaper at first, but its actually much more expensive than if you bought them from somewhere like Summit Racing.

ahh I see. Mazdatrix shows their price per stud, while they are priced for sets of 4 and 5 at summit racing.

Took one of my lugs off today and I actually get more like 5 and 1/2 turns on the nuts, better than I originally thought ( its been a while ) but I'm going to go ahead and get the 2.5 inch ones from summit.
