What's better????
When it comes to getting a better ignition, going with a spark amplifier like Crane Hi-6 or MSD vs. finding a distributor from a younger 7?
|
what application is this for? From what ive seen the stock ignition on a fc is pretty good.
|
MSD. FC's don't have distributors. Have you looked under your hood?
|
A distributor would be a big step backwards.
|
I've got an 86 FC that's pretty much stock. I'm looking for ways to improve with a 5k budget.
|
hks twin-power maybe....
maybe iliketoeatricers will chime in. he seems to be having great luck with his hks... |
Crane hi-6 or msd 6a will do fine. hks is kinda pricey
|
Ignition is the last mod you should to to an FC NA for power. How about a cold air intake, downpipe and cat back exhaust? Then start playing with timing advance, maybe get some struts and springs.
Ignition mods do nothing for a stock FC NA. |
new struts and springs are going to be put in, thinking about 100 or 120, and I'm ordering a exhaust kit from rb

What about on a TII, that will be making about 350rwhp?

how about the new aem c2id?? http://www.aempower.com/product_ems.asp please scroll down to mid page. will run split timing on rotary http://www.aempower.com/faq.asp?sid=35 this is what i would buy if i ever buy ignition amplifier. |
for 622 bucks, i think i'll skip that one.
you dont need an igntion amp on a fc under 350-400 hp, but if you want one anyway, the crane hi-6 is the way to go, its cheap and proven to work. pat |
