What year is this rotor?
 

With the three motors we disassembled these two rotors are the best condition. Can any one tell me what year the rotor on the right came from. My son and I are restoring a 90GXL. We are ready to put the motor back together but we need a matched set of rotors.

The rotor on the left came out of the 90GXL.
The right we are unsure off. Could we use this rotors in the rebuild or what problems can we expect?

Need to know what letters are stamped on them.

Did all three motors come from 89-91 models? All N/A engines as well?

If so, then you should be alright. If the engines came from pre-89 (86-88) or any TII engines, then the weights and compression may be off.

Yes they are from 89 and or 90. If you look closely at the pic the rotor on the right has a smooth finish. Only the dish looks machined.

So would it matter which goes in front or back of the motor?

Yeah, the all machined rotor face on the left would typically be pegged as an FD rotor.

Measure the depth of the dish with a dial caliper - if they are same, they are probably the same type of rotor.

The other confirmation is to weigh both of them.  If you don't have an accurate scale handy, go down to the grocery store and ak them to weigh it on their produce scales.

Now that would be funny to watch..
Your just cruising down the store to pick out some food, some dude comes in with some huge ass chunks of metal and wants to know if he can weigh them on the same stuff you do food.. HEHE...

I think a better option if you had to resort to this would be the Postal Servce.. I imagine there scales are pretty good. They are digital.. :D

Just call your freindly neighbourhood "supplier".. usually have a few good, sensitive scales laying around! :)

I only mention it cause we actually did it!

It was 1am in the morning, and the post office is closed.  24H stores are reedily available. :)
