What would happen if you put DURALUBE/SLICK50 in a rotary?
 

Just wondering...or even PROLONG. It says it benefits engines or makes them run with way less friction and wear....is it good for our engines too?

from what i've heard Slick50 isnt that great for engines because it contains silicone? particles that stick to the engine. Something along those lines. Basically the particles it contains screw up our engines causing the apex seals to not seal very well. Some1 correct me if im wrong ;)

People that have their OMP blocked off and premix in the tanks can use synthetics (because it's not getting burned off inside the motor, the 2 stroke oil, or whatever they premix in the tank is).

But a lot of those "additives" have been coming under fire by saying that they provide benefits that they often don't.

I ran 15W40 Valvoline Duralube in my 88 SE all summer and then dropped down to a 10W30 in Oct. as it began to get a little colder at nights and the motor wasn't happy to start up in the mornings. Seemed sluggish, but went away with the 10-30.

I haven't had a problem with the Duralube in my rotary, still got good compression and the oil comes out looking good. Not black as night on you finger like it is burnt, but still has some of its original golden qualities. I change mine between 2500-3000 miles. Don't think I baby this car night and day either, I redline my RX a couple times a day at least.

Hard to redline it much in a city block between two stop signs with an old lady driving her Caprice Classic over to Estelle's to play cards. :)

But I manage to anyway!

Best case scenario, you dont damage your motor. Dont use additives.
