what is this vacuum nozzle?
FYI i have tried search... lol
What is the vacuum nozzle that is inbetween the oil injectors on the rotor housing and the oil injectors on the intake manifold. Its under the upperintake manifold and behind the lower intake manifold. It goes straight to the dynamic chamber. I was wonder what it does and if i could get rid of it. I have a vac leak near there and trying to eliminate possiblites... |
This is for the air bleed valves.
How did you narrow it down to that area?  There's a good possibility that the fuel injector (lower) grommets are leaking... -Ted |
I think I know which one you are talking about. The two pictures that I have linked to are before I pulled the engine on my '91 TII.
Funny thing is when I installed the engine. I capped that line in the lower intake manifold. It is not until I read your post and looked at my pics and relized that that vac hose is indead going to the vac. spider. Obviously I do not know where the hose I am pointing to goes. I don't have my vac. hose diagram. If this is the hose your wondering about I don't know. If it is not. Does somebody know what I am pointing to? Good luck James |
My second picture.

sorry i forgot to add that its an N/A 88'. my car don't look like that at all.
Ted- u said the lower grommet could be leaking? as in a vac leak? there is no fuel leaking as far as i know and there is no flooding, but this whole mess started because i wanted and did have my fuel injectors cleaned, along with every other mod except the electric fan... U said it is for the air bleeds?? what is that? I used a vacuum tube and put it to my ear and probed w/ it. WORKS GREAT! so what do u think know? I also know its a vac leak becuz da and i have a vac gauge... |
http://mazdatrix.com/c-6.htm You'll see air bleeds in this picture. Its the plastic part the fuel injector sits in, down in the hole. That nipple leads to the air bleeds. If you pull the air bleeds out of the hole(go ahead, I dare you) you'll see a small hole about midway of where the air bleed sits. That nipple feeds filtered air from in front of the throttle body, to the nipple, thru the housing to the mid section of the air bleeds. Go ahead and take the manifold apart and trace the path.
I think he's refering to the grommet at the bottom of the injector where the injector mates with the metal around the injector hole. While the car is running spray starter fluid around the suspected leak. Rpm should smooth out. |

thxs hailers, so i can;t get rid of that..
i don't have that much free time on my hands to trace it;) i believe u. ok i wil ltry and spray my carb cleaner back there next.. |
FINALLY
Originally posted by RETed This is for the air bleed valves. I removed my clutch fan and the fan shroud, so i could get back there while the engine was running. I put sprayed some cc right on the injector and sure enough my vac gauge went right up and my engine smoothed out. So the gromets are leaking. So what do i do, just buy a new set? how do they go bad? is there some type of sealant i could use or somethin? I AM SO FUCKING HAPPY, i have been w/o my fc for 5 months now. wondering what the hell was wrong, i would never have guessed it to be the gromets. thank u so much for the advice... |
The new grommets come soft and resilient. The old ones get as hard as a rock and can be a smallll problem getting them off the injector. I said smalllllll problem, not much of one.

Originally posted by rotorhead1 you know... thats something i have never understood. how can an injector grommet not leak? the top of the injector has an o ring that seals up nice and tight, but where the injector sits in the manifold, or the center housing, has alot of play, you can even turn the injectors with the fuel rail in place!!! that cant be an airtight seal. any insight into how the injectors seal at both ends would be cool. -Ted |
i can't wait for them in the mail, and ya u're right about very hard to detect it took my like 5 months to figure it out, since i had 2 leaks initally. And the sad part about it is that when i called RC engineering they said i should replace them and my dad said so too, but i though fuck it i just want to drive it asap. last time i ever take shortcuts......

SCUMMY
jesus,
well i thought the air bleeds down in the fuel injector holes were the grommets, so i was makin a fool outa myself by asking ppl how do i take the grommets out. I couldn't tell they looked like seals. So i get around to takin one out. I look at it like WTF? this is no seal, lol do some research find out its an air bleed. well to sum the shit up my car hasn't been running for 5 months becuz i lost the old grommets when i sent my injectors into RC, they were still attached and when they came back i didn;t noticed and put them in w/o grommets. SO FINNALY, if anyone has ever had there FC done and can't figure it out, and evertually did u know how i feel :D just like that.... Ah...... thxs for all the help guys;) |
