what is this tube???

I want to run a power cable through my fire wall for an amp and the main wiring hole is a little tight. So i looked around and found this wich seams like it has a little extra room for a 8 gadge cable.

_so is this a bad idea and should i just go and drill a seperat hole and calk it or what.

Speedo cable..

I run numerous extra wires + a 1/0AWG power cable through the same "grommet" as the main power harness on the driver's side.
You'd be surprised how much space there is.

How did you fit them. Did you just pop off the rubber boot and feed them through and cap it back when you are done.

-how does that boot clip on, i cant figure out how to get the speedo cable boot to reattach.

Boot stays on.
I cut a slit in the boot from the engine bay side.
It helps to remove the trailing coils back there.
You get a real clear shot at the boot itself.

Next, get a straightened wire coat hanger or a thick piece of wire.
This will help you push and pull wire through the cut in the boot.
Put a loop at one end to help anchor any wires you want to pull through.
It's easiest to push the coat hanger from the engine bay side down into the interior.
Once it goes it, you should be able to look under the dash and pull it all through.
