What is stock fuel pressure on s4 t2?
 

hey guys i am tring to figure out if this is my problem of slight hesitation around 2200-2600.

i am getting about 28psi. is this right?

That's too low. According to the FSM, from 35.x to 37psi is on the money.

Time to check out the fuel system. The last thing you want is to loose an engine from a lean out!

Being 7 PSI off... I would make sure i am using an accurate guage first. The cheap ones at Autozone are not very accurate.

i konw i lost the last motor because damn injector clogged up and leaned motor out. but could it because i have 720s in primary(im changing 550's back) or because i need to rewire fuel pump? im gonan check that stuff tommorow. anything else i shoudl check?

28psi is the correct idle fuel pressure. 37psi is the correct static fuel pressure (i.e. engine off or WOT). If you measured the fuel pressure with the engine idling, this is not your problem.

Remember fuel pressure should rise and fall exactly in line with manifold pressure. The FRP keeps the fuel pressure a constant 37psi higher than manifold pressure.

If it's a n/a, you don't need to go for a drive. Just idle the car. Go to the fuel pressure regulator. Pull its vac hose off and cover the hose with your finger. Look at the pressure gauge. It should read approx 37psi. Heck, that'll even work for a turbo.

Come to think of it,just idle the car, then turn the engine off. Depending on what kind of pressure gauge you have, the pressure should RISE from the low , low thirties to ......approx 37psi after about a minute. See that every day.

After turning the engine off and looking at the pressure on the gauge rise to approx 37psi, that pressure should stay high for sometime. I'm guessing over fifteen minutes.......I never stuck around to see how long it stays there. That'd be like watching grass grow.
