What Should I Expect To Find?

I am getting ready to replace the Fuel Pulsation Dampener on my 1987 Base Model RX-7. I bought the car in March of 1990 with about 38,000 miles on it and it now has 203,000. The engine was replaced about 25,000 miles ago but I am sre that no work (or cleaning) was done on the throttle body, dynamic chamber or any of the intake manifold system.

So, what kind of mess am I going to find when I open things up? What parts do I need to replace (other than having the fuel injectors cleaned, replacing the vacuum spider, the copper crush washers, the intake manifold gaskets and fuel pulsation dampener)? How would you recommend cleaning the interiors of the throttle body, dynamic chamber and intake manifold system??

I am not asking about whether I should go the banjo bolt ot fuel pulsation dampener route, that question has been adequately debated already.

Thanks in advance for the inputs.

Expect the intake manifold internals to be caked in carbon. It can be removed with carb cleaner and a wire brush.

You should replace ALL the rubber. Vacuum hoses, gaskets, fuel lines, etc. Also get new injector o-rings and grommits. I prefer silicone vacuum lines since they don't harden like the stock rubber, and come in pretty colours. :)
