rebuild

thebigbluecan 12-22-07 01:53 PM

a rebuild would probably be cheaper... how much does a refurb motor from Mazda cost anyway?

RotaryResurrection 12-22-07 02:18 PM

I can probably rebuild your old one for about half the cost of a mazda reman and give the same warranty. I would also be willing to do some trading for that rx8 motor if you still have it.

have atkins do a rebuild.

Depending on how long it has been sitting, a rebuild would be the best option. If you have good compression, you may even be able to get away with just gaskets and o-rings. Rotary Resurrection has a good reputation for reliable rebuilds that are easy on the pocket book.

Also, a Mazda re manufactured engine is not a new engine. They rebuild the same as anyone else, only replacing what is out of spec. I think you used to get new rotor housings, but this is no longer the case right?

That's my $.02.

the reman is 2500 with gasket set
pm sent to RotaryResurrection

RotaryResurrection 12-25-07 02:40 AM

I can probably get you by for half that with the same warranty. PM replied.

rebuild with ceramic seals. Looks like it's worth the money.

Kevin, you'd do a rebuild still if I send ceramic seals with it?
