this one?
Aluminum Alternator 1974-92 (all) Double Sheave Pulley ??? it seems to have two slots on it... what are they for... and there is a more expensive one but it only has one? what are the diffrences? |
oh sorry and who sells the block off plate for when i remove my whole air pump? does RB?
|
The two slots are to run two belts the way you have your alt set up. With twice the contact area, you're less likely to have you belts slip (squeal).
The more expensive one is an underdrive pulley, which would add some hp by spinning your alt and water pump slower. Not good if you have a large electrical strain on the car. I beleieve RB sells an ACV block off plate, and know that K2RD and Mazdatrix do at the very least. Sean |
Yes, RB does cary one, I checked. It is called an AC&CV block off plate, sold in the intake section, near the bottom.

so its able to run two belts.... would one be for the fan part and one be separate for the waterpump? what belts should i use because i cant use the stock ones can i and i dont wanna get the cheep canadian tire and lordco ones....?
|
No. Both belts are setup in the exact saame way, just like you have yours set-up now.
It is possible to use a single belt from the crank to your water pump in the second groove. It is a lawnmoer part, but lord knows I'd never remember the part number. |
