What parts do I need in an engine rebuild?

Hey guys!!

Well, I just got my first fc a little while ago, cuz I've always wanted an FR. And of course, a rotory is a bonus. Anways, I bought an 88 N/A, didn't wanna go turbo cuz I just wanna build a cheap track beater. The car came w/ a blown motor. Now, I have never worked on a rotary engine, so I don't know what engine parts do I have to place. Can you guys please give me a list of the parts I'll need for a standard rotary rebuild? Or is there an engine rebuild "kit" of some sort from mazda?

I plan on starting the project in a month, so I would like to have the parts ready then. I've been looking at my baby everyday and drooling all over it..... sigh... can't wait...

Thanks so much guys!! :D

internal (but full is recommended) gasket kit (150 for interna...250-300 for full, i forgot the price for NA's)
you can go for atkins 2pc apex seals (200)
viton oil control rings if you want.

New rotor and housing (depending on damage)

Congratulations on the car and welcome to the forum.

First i'd like to point out the search feature @ the top right hand of the screen. try typing in "engine rebuild"
and i think that that should help you get started.
Alot of the senior members here can also help you if you have any problems, but don't be afraid to use the search feature. :bigthumb:

cool! thanks!
that's really affordable.....
but i still prefer doing it on my own... just so i can know all about it!!
i'm not doing this to save money. I understand that a lot of times, doing it on your own actually makes you spend more money. But, i'm stubborn... hehehehe...
i'd love to know about rotaries....

Well you can just pay the core charge and take your core apart to tinker with. :)
