do you have a S-afc? you are probably running super rich if not

700-800c is good at WOT

ERAUMAZDA 07-22-03 02:17 PM

I thought EGT would stay the same temp no matter...at full operating temp

Negative.

EGT is in direct correlation between AFR and timing advance/retard.

Generally, the richer the mixture, the lower the EGT's. When you are boosting, you will see your EGT go down as you are usually running more fuel at boost than at cruise.

Too too rich may also raise EGT's...but that's another matter.

ok, i'm getting the S-AFC, in about couple of weeks.
how ever in the mean time i'd like to be sure that my Temp, is ok..I heard that as long as i'm not over 1000C
i'll be ok but, better is around 750c-800c.
When i get my s-AFC i'll take it to th edyno and lean it out, but more info on this wil be great..thanks...
by the way i'll post pic of my port engine go together piece by piece tommorow....

1000C at WOT, I doubt that you're engine would be around long.

Since you are running the stock ECU and therefore stock timing (stock timing is more agressive than what people with EMS seem to run), I would leave it quite rich at full boost. 700-750C

For cuising under vaccuum you can go up to 840C or so.

Just make sure your vaccuum-boost transition is a bit richer than that :)

no your not getting it.

I thought that ass long as your A/R is constant, no matter if the Throttle plate is open or not the egt will be the same

You are right.
I have no clue WTF you are talking about.

A/R is Area Ratio
AFR is Air Fuel Ratio

This is what you originally posted:

How does that equate to this..????

EGT probe in downpipe:
720C at WOT
780C highway cruising, i.e. closed loop

EGT probe in manifold, before turbo:
760C at WOT
820C highway cruising, i.e. closed loop

This is for a GReddy EGT, so the numbers might be slightly off.
You do NOT want to see anything over 900C, period.
These numbers are for a 13BT running slightly rich (more rich with the EGT in manifold numbers).&nbsp First set of numbers verified 0.95 lambda off a Horiba wide-band.
