What items stop fuel pump from working?

Car has sat and wont start

It has spark and we replaced the plugs

I took the egi fuse out to unflood and it used to click when installing it
Now it does not click, i think that is the problem

Thanks!

On an S4,a stuck AFM flapper would make the fuel pump not run.
I had a car sat about a year, the Flapper was corroded solid.I had to take the Afm apart to get it to move.

Where is the AFM? Can you describe please?

Thanks

..AFM..Air Flow meter.. (on an s4 is it AKA: "Absolutley Freakin Massive")
the air filter attaches to it...meters air..
Look in the front passenger side of the car behind the headlight and find the thing that has the biggest connector going to it.

Post#5 in this thread shows a S5 AFM

bad grounds? shorted out fuel pump resistor relay? Theres a yellow connector on the passenger side strut tower which jumpers the fuel pump relay and sends power straight to the pump. If it still doesnt work then it could be a back ground, AFM, or something else. Check the FSM for more info
RotaryHeads.com - 2nd Gen RX-7 PDF Technical Manuals FC3S

Also, what do you mean by the the EGI fuse used to click? there could be a simpler solution to your problem

I'd like more info on these please:

Can you please let me know where the fuel pump resistor relay is?

Where exactly can I find the yellow connector on the strut tower?

disregard the egi fuse clicking when putting it back in, noticed it needs acc power on to do it

BTW thank you!

power, ground, acc. you need at least those things for it to work. id start simple as stated above. grab a test light and see if you are even getting power to the pump. hell, just throw 12v right to the pump and see if it works. could be junk
not to be rude, but a 10 year member, never heard of (or seen) the AFM? I feel this may be a simple fix

What year is your car? An NA S4 does not have the resistor relay but the S4 turbo and all S5's have them. The fuel check connetor is encased in a rubber boot. The plug is Yellow and has two wires such that one is Brown and the other Black. It's found on the passenger side of the engine in the Emission harness which feeds the Boost/Pressure sensor.
